Patient safety, clinical quality, and regulatory compliance are our member hospitals’ highest priority. SAHA helps achieve excellence through facilitating knowledge sharing and forging strategic partnerships with organizations and agencies to improve patient outcomes, health care efficiency, and cost savings.  

Cost savings are achieved through the various contracts SAHA negotiates on behalf of the membership.  Our contract portfolio has over 80 contracts that members can take advantage of!

SAHA Networking 

One of SAHA's most important functions is to facilitate networking opportunities for its members.  This networking serves two primary purposes:  to facilitate sharing of best practices and information between member hospitals, and to share cost savings and contract opportunities.  These meetings are supplemented with secure listservs that allow members to ask questions of each other and share solutions for current issues.

SAHA's networking teams are organized by discipline.  The SAHA CEOs, who make up SAHA's Board of Directors, are essentially a networking team and meet quarterly.  The Finance Committee is made up of CFOs from member hospitals and plays a key role in identifying savings and contracting opportunities.  There are various other teams that span different disciplines in hospitals, including but not limited Chief Nursing Officers, Revenue Cycle and Business Office, Human Resources, Rehab, Pharmacy, Lab, Quality, Compliance, HIM and Case Management.

FY 2022-2023 Highlights:

  • SAHA members represent over 2,000 beds, 8 health systems, and more than 15,000 employees!
  • Total savings from SAHA initiatives for FY 2023-2024 exceeded $3.2 M, with an overall ROI of 7.8.

SAHA Contract Portfolio:

SAHA partners with vendors to negotiates contracts that provide value to our membership.  We do not charge an admin fee or accept backend rebates.  All of the savings accrue back to our members.  Our current portfolio has over 100 contracts covering several areas of the hospital, including but not limited to finance/revenue cycle, supply chain, nursing, operations, pharmacy, HR, HIM, Lab and IT to name a few.
