While most employees want to do well, and to be recognized for their contributions, unfortunately there is a small number of employees who not only don’t care about their contributions, but who actively work against the harmony of the work unit and directly/indirectly attempt to undermine the goals and achievements of the unit. This group - I call them “difficult” employees - require even more strenuous efforts to overcome than typical employee performance and behavior issues.
This training teaches supervisors and managers how to recognize this special group of employees and describes the different types of difficult employees (and sets out why this is crucial to dealing with each type). This training also teaches what to do in dealing with each type of difficult employee, and just as importantly, what NOT to do.
The format is primarily lecture, with lots of opportunities for questions and answers. There is also small group activity working on case studies.
$25 for SAHA members includes lunch, speaker fees, handouts and continuing education units.
