Knowledge Sharing

When hospitals work together to share ideas, best practices, and resources, they make more quality improvement progress than hospitals that do not collaborate. Building relationships to improve care, safety, and quality is a true benefit of SAHA membership.

SAHA facilitates knowledge sharing in many different ways.

  • The alliance arranges for educational programs to meet needs identified by its various teams; in fiscal years 2008 and 2009, for example, SAHA College provided 55 educational offerings.
  • The quarterly team meetings provide important forums for discussion about topics ranging from root cause analysis to staff governance to patient safety.
  • Informal communications among team members allows collaborative problem solving, information sharing, and suggestions for improvement throughout the year.
